Vertical video for crypto events needs to be planned at shoot time, not created by cropping a horizontal clip afterward. X, TikTok and LinkedIn each favor slightly different pacing and framing, and a crypto event’s fast-moving social cycle makes vertical content the format most likely to actually get seen the same day it’s filmed.

Why cropping a horizontal shot doesn’t work
A wide stage shot framed for a 16:9 horizontal recording loses most of its subject when cropped to 9:16. The speaker ends up small and off-centre, with two thirds of the useful frame cut away. Vertical shots need their own framing decision on the day: tighter on the subject, less reliant on wide establishing context, composed with the crop already in mind.
What works well vertically at a crypto event
- A single strong quote: tight on the speaker, subtitle burned in, under 60 seconds
- Founder interview clips: the same interview corner setup used for horizontal, reframed tighter
- Booth and expo walk-throughs: handheld, moving through the space
- Reaction and atmosphere shots: crowd energy, announcements landing in real time
Platform differences that affect the edit

- X: favors fast cuts and a clear opening hook in the first two seconds, since the feed scrolls quickly
- TikTok: tolerates a slightly rougher, more candid style than a polished corporate cut
- LinkedIn: works better with a more composed, professional edit, closer to the tone of the main highlight film
One clip rarely serves all three platforms equally well. Where budget allows, we cut two or three variants from the same footage rather than one generic vertical file pushed everywhere.
Vertical content and same-day delivery
Vertical clips are usually the first thing published from a same-day editing workflow, since they are faster to cut than a full highlight film. See our same-day recap videos for crypto events page for how that workflow runs, and our general Reels video production in Istanbul page for the format basics.
